2009-10 Recruiting Class Announced
May. 28 - ST. PAUL, Minn. - Concordia University head men's and women's golf coach Matt Higgins has announced that five student-athletes, two men and three women, will join the NSIC Champion Golden Bear golf program for the 2009-10 season. He has signed two more men's golfers, C.J. Aadland (Pine City HS) and Cory Pike (Princeton, HS / Mesa Community College) to join John Potter (Woodbury HS) who signed during the early period last fall. The three women are Taylor Auman (Coon Rapids HS), Alicia Eckman (Park Center HS / Brooklyn Park, Minn.) and Laura Petterson (Lakeville North HS).
Jarrett and Noser Earn Academic All-District Honors
May. 21 - LEXINGTON, Ky. - The 2008-09 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District V teams have been released for the men's and women's at-large category with a pair of sophomore golfers, Nick Jarrett (Woodbury, Minn.) from the men's team and Molly Noser (Rochester, Minn.) from the women's team earning second team honors as voted on by the sports information directors who are members of CoSIDA District V.
Women's Golf Ties For Ninth At NCAA Championships, Martin Top CU Finisher
May. 16 - FINDLAY, Ohio - Concordia University's women's golf team finished in a tie for ninth place at the 2009 NCAA Division II Women's Golf Championships, completing the title event with 18 holes played on Saturday. The Golden Bears tied West Texas A&M with 1,318 strokes through the four rounds of play. The team was paced by Anne Martin with a 30th place finish (319), while Jacquelyn Hauser golfed a team best 82 in the fourth and final round (t-39, 324). FINAL TEAM RESULTS - FINAL INDIVIDUAL RESULTS
Golden Bears Hold Strong in Top-10 at Nationals
May. 15 - FINDLAY, Ohio - Play resumed with two 18 hole rounds on Friday at the Findlay Country Club at the 2009 NCAA Division II Women's Golf National Championships with No. 30 Concordia University holding in the top-10 with 18 holes to play tomorrow. CU shot a 323 and a 334 this afternoon after stroking a 313 in the first round and are now 108 strokes over par as a squad, tied for eighth place with No. 14 Upper Iowa. Concordia junior Anne Martin (Ramsey, Minn.) had a strong day and has shot sub-80 scores in all three rounds, today posting a 75 and a 79 in the second and third rounds. Hauser and Martin Named NGCA All-Region
May. 14 - CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. - The National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) has released the 2008-09 Division II Women's Golf All-Central Region team with two Golden Bears, senior Jacquelyn Hauser (Caldenia, Minn.) and junior Anne Martin (Ramsey, Minn.) being honored with selections. The award recipients were honored at the NGCA Division II Awards Banquet held on Wednesday, May 13 in Findlay, Ohio.
