Concordia Women Ranked 12th in NGCA All-Scholar Teams

Jul. 19 - CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. - The 2009-10 NGCA All-Scholar Team GPA Awards have been announced, with the University of Indianapolis and their 3.752 team GPA taking home top honors. The NGCA also released the top-25 teams as ranked by GPA in the nation, among all divisions. Concordia, an NCAA Division II member, ranked 12th overall and are the 4th ranked team in NCAA Division II golf after being the top-ranked team in D-II last season. NGCA TEAM GPA AWARD RELEASE

Noser, Spangler & Petterson Honored by NGCA for Academics

Jul. 07 - CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. - The National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) All-Scholar Teams for Division I, II and III were announced this week with a total of 494 women's collegiate golfers recognized with this prestigious honor. The criteria for selection to the All-Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. The minimum cumulative grade point average is 3.50 and student-athletes must have competed in at least 66% of the team's regularly scheduled competitve rounds during the season. The Golden Bear women's golf team had three student-athletes selected to the team, juniors Molly Noser (Rochester, Minn.) and Kaytie Spangler (Ely, Minn.) along with freshman Laura Petterson (Lakeville, Minn.). Juniors Jarrett, Noser and Spangler Earn Academic All-District Honors

May. 20 - LEXINGTON, Ky. - The 2009-10 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District 5 Men's and Women's At-Large teams have been announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), with Concordia junior golfers Nick Jarrett (Woodbury, Minn.), Molly Noser (Rochester, Minn.) and Kaytie Spangler (Ely, Minn.) being selected by the sports information directors in the fifth district. Jarrett was selected to the First Team on the men's side while Noser and Spangler were Second Team selections for the women. The Academic At-Large teams consist of multiple sports with Concordia's golfers achieving a high standing with a large pool of qualified student-athletes.

Concordia Adds Two more for 2010-11 Recruiting Class

May. 13 - ST. PAUL, Minn. - Concordia University head golf coach Matt Higgins has announced that Kelly Hagenson (Staples, Minn. / Staples-Motley HS) and Eryn Johnson (Holmen, Wis. / Holmen HS) have joined the Golden Bear women's golf program for the 2010-11 season. The two prep stars join Monica Enderlin (Middleton, Wis. / Middleton HS) who signed a National Letter of Intent in the fall signing period.

Concordia Women Take 5th at NCAA Regionals

May. 04 - LAKE CITY, Minn. - The Concordia University women's golf team finished their second consecutive NCAA Regional Tournament run today at The Jewel Golf Club by firing a 332 to finish with a team score of 991 just two strokes out of fourth place and seven out of third and their second consecutive trip to the NCAA Division II Women's Golf Championships. The margin they missed the cut on for nationals was tiny over a 54 hole three round tournament with the top four players each round contributing scores. The trip to regionals concludes a second consecutive outstanding season for CU Women's Golf, who was nationally-ranked at multiple points throughout the season. Junior Molly Noser (Rochester, Minn.) was Concordia's top individual with a 242 (+26) over the three rounds as she finished tied for eighth. FULL RESULTS
