Cross Country Women Make All-Academic Team
Mar. 05 - NEW ORLEANS, La. - The Concordia University women's cross country team has been named a 2008 USTFCCCA All-Academic Team, as announced by the US Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Wednesday. The Golden Bear runners posted a combined GPA of 3.060 and is one of ten programs in the NSIC to have made the All-Academic list. This is the fourth straight year that the women's team has received the honor.
Season Best Runs At NCAA Regionals
Nov. 09 - KEARNEY, Neb. - All of Concordia University's cross country athletes participating had season best performances at the 2008 Central Region Championships, held in Kearney, Neb. yesterday. Emily Stanzyk was the top-finishing athlete at the meet.
Stanzyk Makes All-NSIC First Team
Oct. 25 - ABERDEEN, S.D. - Senior cross country athlete Emily Stanzyk (Carroll, Iowa) placed 10th overall at the 2008 NSIC Championships on Saturday and has become an All-NSIC First Teamer. Overall, both the men's and women's teams took tenth place. The Championships were held at Lee Golf Course in Aberdeen, S.D.
Stanzyk Places 20th At Lucian Rosa Invite
Oct. 11 - KENOSHA, Wis. - Senior Emily Stanzyk was the top finisher for the Concordia cross country teams at the Lucian Rosa Invite today, hosted by UW-Parkside. Stanzyk ran the best 5k of her career and placed 20th among 316 runners with a time of 19:09. The women placed 21st at the meet, while the men came in 26th place in the 8k run as both squads gear up for the NSIC Championships. Men's Results Women's Results
CU Continues Great Improvements in 2008 at Griak
Sep. 28 - ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The Concordia University men's and women's cross country teams continued to show improvement up and down their roster yesterday as they ran at the Roy Griak Invite at Les Bolstad Golf Course hosted by the University of Minnesota. The women finished 22nd of 27 teams with 571 points.
