Set Of DI Athletes To Join Women's Hoops

Apr. 20 - ST. PAUL, Minn. - Paul Fessler, head coach of the Concordia women's basketball program, has announced that two student-athletes will join the Golden Bear squad from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.  Maurika Hickman and Jineen Williams completed their sophomore seasons for the Panthers and will bring the talent and experience of Division I basketball to the Concordia backcourt in 2009-10.

2008-09 Women's Basketball Wrap-Up

Apr. 03 - ST. PAUL, Minn. - Concordia's women's basketball team put up a 21-12 overall record in 2008-09, taking eighth place in the Northern Sun Conference after going 11-9 in league play.  Although the team had some ups and downs throughout the year's campaign, the Golden Bears peaked at the end of the season and finished the year playing strong.  FINAL RELEASE

Concordia Falters In NSIC Championship

Mar. 08 - WINONA, Minn. - The chill and snow outside seemed to transfer to the Concordia women's basketball team in McCown Gymnasium Sunday afternoon.  Looking for a three-peat as NSIC Tournament champions, the Golden Bears put up a cool 27.9 shooting mark and fell to St. Cloud State 53-41.  The win was not pretty, but it assured the Huskies (22-8) a spot in the NCAA Tournament and ended Concordia's season with a 21-12 record.  Candace Olstad and Jamie Jones were named to the All-Tournament Team.   BOX SCORE

Another Championship Appearance! 300th Win For Fessler

Mar. 07 - WINONA, Minn. - 8th seeded Concordia University (21-11) appears to be the sleeper team of the 2009 NSIC/Sanford Health Basketball Tournament, first knocking off top-seeded Minnesota State and now topping no. 4 Augustana College (20-9) by a score of 67-58 in the semifinals.  Jamie Jones poured in 19 points to help Concordia head coach Paul Fessler reach his 300th career win.  The Golden Bears are matched up with no. 5 St. Cloud State in the NSIC Tournament championship game, which tips off at 2:00 pm on Sunday afternoon.  BOX SCORE - UPDATED BRACKET
