The Golden Bears went 37-1 in 2008, dropping their season opener and then rallying for 37 consecutive wins.  They won the 2008 Central Region title with a 3-0 win over Minnesota Duluth and advanced to their fourth NCAA Championship Tournament in six years.  Concordia was honored to be the host site for the final three rounds of play, which ran December 4-6 and featured the eight Division II regional champions.

Concordia defeated the University of New Haven 3-0 in the championship quarterfinals and Grand Valley State 3-1 in the semifinals.  They were matched up with California State University San Bernardino in the DII title game.  The Coyotes handed the Golden Bears their only loss in the season opener and battled Concordia to the wire in the championship match.  The Golden Bears hung on and used a late run to claim the 3-2 win and their second consecutive NCAA Championship.
