Concordia University head softball coach Bob Bartel has announced that Jamie Lindboe of Burnsville High School and Calli Brennan of Henry Sibley High School have signed to play for the Golden Bears in 2009.
"I'm excited to sign two of the premier softball players in the Metro area," Bartel commented on the two signings. "They both bring the total package to the diamond: outstanding gloves, speed, excellent ability at the plate to hit for average and power."
Lindboe, pictured above, is a two-time letterwinner heading into her senior season. She helped the Blaze to a Lake Conference championship, hitting .414 with six home runs. She earned all-state, all-metro and all-Lake Conference honors. Away from the diamond, Lindboe maintains B-honor roll status at BHS.
Brennan, pictured right, is a four sport star for the Warriors, earning letters in softball (5), hockey (4), soccer (3) and weightlifting (1). She helped Sibley to a Classic Suburban Conference championship in 2005 and a section title in 2006 as the Warriors finished as the MSHSL Consolation Champions at the state tournament. She has earned multiple all-conference honors, Rookie of the Year, all-section and all-state awards. She was named to the MSHSL All-State Tournament team and was an all-metro selection. She holds Sibley High School's weighlifting record and maintained B-honor roll status."I look forward to them each making an immediate impact in their freshman season with us."
Lindboe and Brennan join a Concordia softball program that has produced three NCAA Regional Tournament appearances and a trip to the NCAA Elite Eight Tournament in 2005. In 2007, Concordia went 27-31 overall and finished 10-8 in the Northern Sun.
