ST. PAUL, Minn. - Concordia University head golf coach Matt Higgins has announced that Monica Enderlin of Middleton, Wis. has signed a National Letter of Intent to swing for the Golden Bears starting in 2010-11. Enderlin is currently a senior at Middleton High School competing for the Cardinals.
"I am excited about having Monica join our program next fall. She is one of the top female golfers to come of Wisconsin this year and she knows what it takes to be part of a championship program!" Higgins stated enthusiastically. "She is a hard worker and her experience and accomplishments speak for themselves."
About those accomplishments, Enderlin captured All-State honors back-to-back as a junior and senior leading the Cardinals in stroke average as a captain both years. She was also an All-Conference First Team pick each year while also securing Honorable Mention honors as a sophomore. In the 2009 season she led the Cardinals to a Wisconsin State Championship where she finished fifth as an individual.
"I expect her to step in immediately and help us win another championship," Higgins continued. "She is an accomplished golfer, an exceptional student and a great person. She fits in our system and is exactly the type of athlete we look for."
Off the course, Enderlin earned academic letters in addition to her three in golf. She is also a member of National Honor Society, the Athletic Council and Chamber Singers.
She will join a Concordia University women's golf team that has entered the NCAA Division II national spotlight. The Golden Bears are attempting to defend their 2008-09 NSIC Championship, a second place finish at the NCAA Regional and a ninth place finish at the NCAA Division II Golf Championships.
