Fans root for Concordia

ST. PAUL, Minn. - Concordia University plays it's first post-season match of 2008 on Thursday at 7:30 pm right here at the Gangelhoff!  The team's 31-match winning streak will be on the line against #8-seeded Regis University (19-11) in the quarterfinals of the Central Region Tournament.  Help the Golden Bears fill the gym with noise and excitement!

This is the sixth consecutive NCAA berth for the Golden Bears, who will be defending a 2007 National Championship crown.  Concordia has gone 16-4 in post-season NCAA play over the years and has never been eliminated before the championship round of the regional.  They have met up with Minnesota Duluth, this year's #3 seed, in the regional championship in each of the past four seasons.

The Regis Rangers enter the tournament as the #8 seed, receiving an automatic bid as the RMAC Tournament Champions.  The team is 19-11 on the year and has won seven straight matches.

The meeting between the Golden Bears and the Rangers is the finale match for Thursday's quarterfinal round.  Please visit the official tournament website to view all of the matchups for the day and the complete weekend schedule.
