Lucas Burns Commits to Plays for Golden Bears

Nov. 19– Concordia men's basketball coach Kelly Boe has announced that Lucas Burns, a senior from Janesville-Craig High School in Janesville, Wisconsin, has signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Bears in 2008-09.

Burns, a 6-6, 215 pound guard/forward was Craig’s leading scorer the last two seasons. He averaged 16.2 points a game last season, scoring 372 points as the Cougars reached the WIAA Division 1 sectional finals. Burns made 36.7 percent of his three-point shots (55-150) and was a 40.9 percent two-point shooter (63-154). He made 80.2 percent of his free throws (81-101).

Burns also was Craig’s leading rebounder last season, averaging seven per game en route to 160 for the season. He transferred to Craig from Milton High School after his freshman season.

Concordia had a 21-8 record last season for the most wins in school history and went 13-5 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference under first-year coach Kelly Boe.
