ST. PAUL, Minn. - Concordia University women's softball head coach Bob Bartel has announced the signing of Bekah Roth of Shoreview, Minn. to a National Letter of Intent to play softball for Concordia University in the fall of 2010. Roth will enter Concordia University as a freshman next fall as a utility fielder for the Golden Bears softball team.
"We are very happy to have Bekah joining the Golden Bears softball program," said Bartel.
Roth is a four time letter-winner in softball at Mounds View High School. In addition to her letters, Roth has been named to the All-Section and All-Conference teams all four years of her playing career at Mounds View. Last spring Roth was named to the 2009 All-State Honorable Mention team.
"Bekah will fit into our style of play extremely well," said Bartel. "She is an aggressive player at the plate and can fill in anywhere in the field," added Bartel.
Coach Bartel is looking for Roth to contribute to the CU softball team early in her career.
"Bekah will give us great flexibility in the field with the number of positions she can play," said Bartel. "Her speed will fit right in with our aggressive base running," added Bartel.
Roth has been a member of the National Honor Society at Mounds View for the past three years. She has also earned four letters for academics while being a member of DECA, SADD and NHS.
