ALAMOSA, Colo. - Concordia University women's soccer senior Katie Johnson (M/F, Anoka, Minn.) has been named to the 2009 Daktronics All-Central Region Women's Soccer Second Team. Johnson was one of ten women's soccer players from the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) who were named to the the Daktronics All-Central Region team. Other members of the Daktronics All-Central Region team are members of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC). RELEASE
Johnson had a career senior season, notching seven goals and five assists for 19 points on the season, despite missing a portion of the season due to injury. The 5-6 midfielder helped limit opponents shots on goal while also giving the team plenty of offensive chances on goal. Johnson returned for the final two games of the season and her career. In 2009, she was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Third Team and All-NSIC Third Team.
Johnson is the third Golden Bear to be selected to the Daktronics All-Central Region Second Team. Rachel Vitense and Hillary Johnson were both named to the Daktronics All-Central Region Second Team in 2006
