ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) has declared senior right side Sadie Kessler (St. Michael, Minn.) the NSIC Offensive Player of the Week after a dominant performance in Concordia's 3-0 sweep of St. Cloud State on Saturday. This is the first time in 2009 she has been honored by the league for a Player of the Week award.
Kessler finished out the regular season with a 15-kill, 6-dig performance to lead the Golden Bears to their fifth undefeated NSIC season (20-0) in six years. Kessler hit at a jaw-dropping .700 average, terminating 15 of her 20 attempts from the rightside and committing only one error on the afternoon. She also aced St. Cloud State’s passers twice. Her 15 kills helped her setter, Maggie McNamara, break the Division II career assist record as well.
