KEARNEY, Neb. - All of Concordia University's cross country athletes participating had season best performances at the 2008 Central Region Championships, held in Kearney, Neb. yesterday. Emily Stanzyk was the top-finishing athlete at the meet.
Stanzyk became the highest finishing Concordia women's athlete at an NCAA meet by taking 33rd place with a personal and season best time of 23:17.35. This is the third fastest 6k ran by a C uathlete in school history.
The top men's finisher was Daniel Schield, who took 91st place in the 10k with a time of 35:33.0. This is a season best time for Schield and sets a Concordia record on the course.
Women
Emily Stanzyk – 33rd place - 23:17.35 (Highest finish ever by a CSP athlete at an NCAA Division II Regional Championship. Sets a new CSP course record. 3rd fastest cross country 6k women’s race in CSP school history. She ran a personal and season best time.)
Megan Fulton – 103rd place - 24:59.6 (She ran a personal and season best time).
Katie Monahan – 112th place - 25:21.0 (She ran a season best time)
Sandra James – 126th place - 26:00.7 (She ran a season best time)
Molly Bethke – 142nd place - 26:50.3 (She ran a season best time)
Men
