ST. PAUL, Minn. - Concordia University has announced that Tim Oachs (Football) and Maggie McNamara (Volleyball) have been named the CU Athletes of the Week. McNamara's secures the honor for the third time this season.

Tim Oachs (DE, 6-3, 250, Sr., Mankato, Minn.) was a force on the defensive line for Concordia posting career-highs with three sacks and four tackles for loss. The pass rush specialist also recovered a fumble and had 10 tackles in the loss on the road to the Wildcats. On the season, Oachs has 7.5 sacks which is tied for third in the Northern Sun and also has recorded 15.5 tackles for loss, second-best in the league. His 58 tackles lead all Concordia defensive linemen and are the third-most on the Golden Bears. For his career, Oachs has 12.0 sacks and 24.0 tackles for loss in just two seasons. He ranks 11th in career tackles for loss and is tied for 12th in career sacks - impressive for playing in only 21 games with 13 starts.

Maggie McNamara (S, 5-9, Jr., Zumbrota, Minn.) had yet another outstanding weekend in leading Concordia to a pair of wins over ranked teams on the road, averaging 15.00 asssists and 3.00 digs per game. She had 62 assists and eight digs along with an ace serve, solo block and kill against #22 Augustana. The next night she fed 58 assists and had 16 digs against #23 Wayne State. She currently leads all Division II setters with 13.22 assists per game and has helped the Golden Bears remain the top hitting team in the country (15.21 kills per game). She earned back-to-back CU Athlete of the Week honors Sept. 8 and 15 and earns her third nod this week.
