
LEXINGTON, Ky. - Concordia University student-athlete Katie Johnson (Sr., Anoka, Minn.) has been named to the 2009 ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District Third Team. Johnson was voted to the team by District V sports information directors. The senior is a biology/kinesiology major at Concordia University and holds a 3.42 GPA.
Johnson is a leading midfielder for the women's soccer team at CU. In 2008, she was named to the NSIC All-Academic team. Johnson is the second leading scorer on the team with 7 goals, 5 assists while playing in 13 games for the Golden Bears. Johnson ranks 7th in the conference in scoring with 19 points and 8th in the conference in goals. Johnson is also in the top-10 in the conference with her 5 assists.
In 2008, Johnson played in all 21 games for the Golden Bears making 17 starts. Johnson has maintained her GPA while competing as a multiple sport athlete at CU. Johnson is also a member of the track and field team at CU where she excels in triple jump and running events.
