ST. PAUL, Minn. - Concordia University has selected sophomore Sam Campbell (Football) and junior Emily Palkert (Volleyball) as this week's CU Male and Female Athletes of the Week. Campbell is a first-time selection while Palkert earns the nod for first time this season, second time in her career.

Sam CampbellIn an intense, high scoring game, Concordia sophomore Sam Campbell (Cary, Ill.) had his first career 100 yard performance, hitting exactly 100 rushing on 19 attempts with three touchdowns. He was the go-to-guy in overtime with two rushes and two receptions as he accounted for all 50 of Concordia's overtime yardage on the four touches including both CU touchdowns in the nail-biter victory. In a game that saw high-flying pass plays, a near-400 yard pass performance and a 200 yard receiving performance, Campbell provided the steady effort and clutch play when it mattered most. He also provided six receptions for 59 yards through air to account for 159 combined yards.
