ST. PAUL, Minn. - For the second consecutive week and the fourth time this season, Concordia's Maggie McNamara has been named the NSIC Setter of the Week. McNamara racked up over 100 assists as the Golden Bears took wins against Minnesota State and #5 Southwest Minnesota State.
McNamara finished the weekend with an average of 14.43 assists per game, setting her hitters up in 101 of the weekend's 117 kills. Her assist average was once again the best in the NSIC. The junior posted her seventh and eighth double doubles of the season as she added 30 digs on the weekend, averaging 4.29 digs per set. The Golden Bears increased their program record consecutive wins streak to 23, while ending winning streaks for both the Mavericks and the Mustangs. Concordia has lost only two sets in NSIC play this season.
The Golden Bears host Northern State at the Gangelhoff Center this Friday at 7:00 pm. Saturday's match against the University of Mary will be a special "Dig for the Cure" night dedicated to breast cancer awareness. Check back on the Concordia volleyball website later today for more information regarding the event.
