
ST. PAUL, Minn. - For the third time this season, Concordia's Maggie McNamara has been named NSIC Setter of the Week, released today by the NSIC office. McNamara had 13.50 assists per game as the Golden Bears improved to 21-1 overall and 10-0 in the NSIC last weekend. They host Minnesota State and Southwest Minnesota State this weekend.
Junior Maggie McNamara (Zumbrota, Minn.) had the highest assist per game average in the NSIC last week, accumulating 81 assists through the team's set of 3-0 wins. She posted her sixth double double of the season with 38 assists and 12 digs against #16 Minnesota Duluth on Saturday. McNamara entered the week leading the NCAA with 12.77 assists per set and increased her season average to 12.83 assists per set following the wins. She is also the team's third-leading defender (167 digs).
McNamara is only 18 assists away from reaching 5,000 career assists. She holds the NCAA record for single season assists per game with 15.09 in 2006 and has led the NCAA in assists since she arrived at Concordia.
