KENOSHA, Wis. - Senior Emily Stanzyk was the top finisher for the Concordia cross country teams at the Lucian Rosa Invite today, hosted by UW-Parkside.  Stanzyk ran the best 5k of her career and placed 20th among 316 runners with a time of 19:09.  The women placed 21st at the meet, while the men came in 26th place in the 8k run as both squads gear up for the NSIC Championships.

Stanzyk took more than a minute off of her best 5k time of the season, set in the first meet of the season at St. Mary's, when she took second place.  The other two meets for the CU women have been 6k races.  Showing continuing improvement all around, all six of the Golden Bear trodders improved their times from previous races.

Concordia's men's squad posted their first team finish of the season, placing 26th overall.  Dan Schield was the first Golden Bear to cross the line, shaving off nearly 20 seconds from his best 8k time of the season.  Schield took 61st place with a time of 27:48.  Josh Stebbins had a much improved day as well, placing 137th and skimming off more than 45 seconds from last week with a 29:37 race.
