ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference has announced that Carley Paulseth of Concordia University, K.C. Kane of Southwest Minnesota State and Rochelle Schmidt of Upper Iowa have been named the NSIC Women's Golfers of the Week. The trio ended the first 36 holes of NSIC Championship play tied for the lead for the individual championship, while Paulseth's Golden Bears lead the team standings by seven strokes.
Paulseth shot a 77 in the first round of the two round event and was in sole possession of first place after 18 holes. Her 80 in the second round kept her atop the leaderboard as she was joined by Kane and Schmidt. The 77 ties her season and career low for an 18 hole round while the score of 80 was her next-best round of 2008-09. Paulseth holds a season average of 81.9, 4.3 strokes better than her previous best season average of 86.2 set last year as a junior.
