Golden Bears Finish Sixth at UNO Invite

Kaytie SpanglerOMAHA, Neb. - In the second round of the UNO Fall Classic, every team in the top-six except Upper Iowa saw a double-digit increase in their team score on the final 18 holes as #19 Concordia University took sixth out of 10 teams, firing a 317+348=665, 35 strokes ahead of the rest of the competition. Junior Kaytie Spangler led CU with a 77+82=159 to tie for eighth out of 56 women's individual golfers. FULL RESULTS

Molly Noser (Jr., Rochester, Minn.) finished the UNO Fall Classic in a tie for 22nd after shooting 80-88=168 in the second round of the tournament. After a strong performance and leading the Golden Bears in the first round of the tournament freshman Laura Petterson (Lakeville, Minn.) turned in a 94 in round 2 and dropped from 3rd place to a tie for 24th.

Amanda Bearson (Sr., Lanesboro, Minn.) walked in to the club house after her round 2 score of 89 and finished with a 174 and alone in 33rd place. Freshman Taylor Auman (Coon Rapids, Minn.) gained some tournament experience for the Golden Bears and tied for 35th while shooting 87-89=176 at the UNO Fall Classic.

The Golden Bears will now head into the first two rounds of the NSIC Championships next weekend. The conference tournament will be held at Hillcrest Country Club in St. Paul, Minn.
