Golden Bears Run Strong Against Division I Schools at Sean Earl Invitational

Oct. 03

CHICAGO, Ill. - Running against the toughest competition yet this season, the Golden Bears posted a number of personal best times.  In a meet highlighted by at least 7 NCAA Division I schools, the Golden Bears were once again led by former Division I runner Jake Womeldorf

Womeldorf ran a season best 27:20 in scoring a 127th place finish in the race that had over 400 runners.  Jake was followed by Travis Wagers and Brandon Kotek.  Travis crossed the finish line in 29:03 while Kotek set a personal best time with a score of 29:13.  Dan Schield and Dylan Olson completed the Golden Bear top five with times of 29:28 and 33:52.  Olson replicated Kotek in posting a personal best time.  Olson improved by over 1 minute from his performance at St. Olaf two weeks ago.

The women had a very strong day with the dynamic duo of Katie Monahan and Megan Fulton.  Running most of the race shoulder to shoulder, Katie and Megan passed a number of runners on their way to finishing 165th and 180th respectively.  Katie ran 20:44 while the senior Megan ran 20:51 to set a person best 5K time by 32 seconds.  Senior Sandra James had the best race of her season in finishing with a time of 22:40.
