ST. PAUL, Minn. - #19 The Concordia University Women's Golf team moved up one spot in the Golf World/National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) Women's Division II rankings. The Golden Bears were ranked 20th in this years preseason polls. CU heads into the final two weeks of the season holding on to the #19 ranking in the country. NGCA RELEASE

With their preseason ranking heading into this season, that was the first time in school history that the women's golf team at CU started a season with a national ranking. Concordia University finished the 2008-09 season in a tie for ninth place at the NCAA Tournament.

The Golden Bears received 60 points in the mid-season coaches poll. Which was enough to move them up one spot in the ranking system and head into the final weeks of the fall season ranked 19th. Nova Southeastern still holds on to the first spot in the poll, while Grand Valley State moved their way from 3rd to 2nd. Rollins who was ranked 2nd in the pre-season moved down one spot to 3rd.

The Golden Bears are still the lone school from Minnesota to land on the coaches' poll. NSIC foe Upper Iowa who entered the season ranked 14th moved down to a tie for 24th with another familiar team in Augustana . Augustana was not ranked in the pre-season edition of the poll and earned enough votes to get in the top-25. Minnesota State received the highest amount of votes among the teams who were not in the top-25.
