Golden Bears Stuck in the Middle of NSIC/RMAC Fall Golf Tournament

HASTINGS, Minn. -- The Concordia University men's golf team finished eighth out of 15 teams at the NSIC/RMAC Fall Golf Tournament played at Hastings Country Club. It was also the second of three events that determine the NSIC Championship, with the third to be played during the Spring season. FULL RESULTS

Sophomore Nick Jarrett (Woodbury, Minn.) led the Golden Bears by finishing tied for 26th, firing an 80+76+81=237, just one stroke better than sophomore Kyle Lewis (Forest Lake, Minn.), who shot an 82+79+77=238 to tie for 30th.

In a balanced scorecard for Concordia, senior Nick Gallaway (White Bear Lake, Minn.) was just one more stroke behind Lewis, tying for 34th with a consistent 80+80+79=239 while freshman Jeremy Tetrault (Forest Lake, Minn.) was two more strokes back of Gallaway, tying for 39th. Tetrault improved each round, shooting 85+79+77=241 to conclude the tournament.

Minnesota State University, Mankato took the top spot, finishing 40 strokes ahead of CU with scores of 309+300+303=912. Medalist honors went to Beau Anderson of St. Cloud State who led the Huskies to a third place team finish. Anderson shot 74+75+76=225 and was tied with Colorado School of Mines' Jim Knous who fired a 72+79+74=225 to tie for the medalist position, however Colo. School of Mines finished tied for 12th as a team.

The Golden Bears will wrap up their fall season at home when they host the Concordia Invitational at Tartan Park Golf Club in Lake Elmo, Minn. on October 5-6.
