MARSHALL, Minn. - #20 Concordia University Women's Golf team walked into the clubhouse in a tie for 5th place after the first round of the Mustang Invite. CU is tied with Minnesota State while shooting a 323, and ended the day +32 par. The Golden Bears received a strong showing from senior Anne Martin (Ramsey, Minn.) who sits atop the leader board in a tie for first place after the first round of play. ROUND 1 RESULTS
Martin shot a 75, +3 par during the first round at the Mustang Invite. She finds herself in a tie with Upper Iowa's Jill Preeshl who also shot a 75 in the first round. Molly Noser (Jr., Rochester, Minn.) shot an 81, +9 par and finds herself in a tie for 23rd heading into the final round of the Mustang Invite. Freshman Laura Petterson (Lakeville, Minn.) finished just two strokes behind Noser with an 83, +11 and sits in a tie for 33rd.
The CU golfers will pick up competition tomorrow morning with a 9 a.m. shotgun start. The Golden Bears find themselves in a comfortable situation heading into the final round of play at the Mustang Invite. They are just 6 strokes behind leader Gustavus and are right in the middle of the pack. Upper Iowa is the only other NSIC team to finish the first round ahead of the Golden Bears.
