8th place finish for the Golden Bears at Husky Invite

ST. CLOUD, Minn. - The Concordia University Men's Golf team concluded play at the Husky Invite earlier this afternoon. The Golden Bears finished in 8th place behind Augustana. CU shot for a score of 311 in round 2 of tournament play and finished the tournament with a team total score of 621, +45 par. FINAL RESULTS

John PotterFreshman John Potter (Woodbury, Minn.) was consistent from one day to the next for CU. Potter shot a 77 in both rounds for a total score of 154, +10 par. The freshman was competing as an individual in the tournament and his score would not count towards the team score.

Jeremy Tetrault (So., Forest Lake, Minn.) proved to be consistent as well. The sophomore shot a 77 in both rounds, finishing in a tie for 25th place along with teammate Potter. Kyle Lewis (Jr., Forest Lake, Minn.) improved on his score from the first round. Lewis improved by 3 strokes to shoot a 76 and finished with a score of 155 which was good enough for a tie for the 31st position on the leader board.

The Golden Bears are gearing up for the annual NSIC/RMAC Crossover which fields some of the top teams in the region and always provides a good competition heading into the final weeks of the fall season. This tournament will serve as a warm-up for the men as their next competition will be the first round of the NSIC championships. The NSIC/RMAC Crossover will take place at Wild Horse Golf Course in Gothenburg, Neb.
