LAKE ELMO, Minn. - #20 Concordia University Women's Golf team is stuck in the middle of the pack and find themselves looking up towards the leaders after the first day of the Wildwood Lodge Invitational hosted by Concordia University at their home venue, Tartan Park Golf Course. The Golden Bears sit in 7th place after the first day of competition. ROUND 1 RESULTS
The conditions were rough for all participants as the leading team Nebraska-Omaha finished round 1 with a score of 319, +31 par. A combination of a change in the weather pattern, as well as the construction on the course made conditions tough for all golfers.
CU finished round 1 at their home course shooting a 334, +46 par. The Golden Bears were led by Molly Noser (Jr., Rochester, Minn.) who tied for 14th while shooting an 81, +9 par. Kaytie Spangler (Jr., Ely, Minn.) was +10 par shooting an 82 and finished round 1 in 18th place. Freshman Alicia Eckman (Brooklyn Park, Minn.) competed as an individual and finished with a career-low round of 90.
The Golden Bears look to get back on track tomorrow and try to defend their championship from a year ago at their very own tournament. Round 2 will get underway with a shot-gun start at 9:30 a.m. at Tartan Park Golf Course. Stay tuned for final results, photos and a re-cap of tomorrow's events.
