SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Amanda Bearson (Sr., Lanesboro, Minn.) led the charge for the Golden Bears in round 1 of the Augustana Invitational at Bakker's Crossing Golf Course in Sioux Falls, S.D. The senior posted the lowest score (74) of her career as a Golden Bear. She passed her previous career-low (77) by 3 strokes. Bearson is in 1st place after the first day of competition. Her tournament leading score helped the Golden Bears finish the first day in 1st place. ROUND 1 RESULTS
CU shot a +23 par, with a team-total score of 307. Three CU women's golfers finished round 1 in the top-10. The Golden Bears hold a one-stroke lead over Minnesota State Mankato heading into round 2. Southwest Minnesota State sits in 3rd place, 11 strokes behind Minnesota State Mankato and 12 strokes behind the Golden Bears.
Senior Anne Martin (Ramsey, Minn.) is in a tie for 2nd place at the end of round 1. Martin shot a 75 and was +4 par for the day. She finds herself in a three-way tie with two golfers from Minnesota State Mankato. In her second appearance for the Golden Bears freshman Laura Petterson (Lakeville, Minn.) is tied for 8th place after round 1. Petterson shot a career-low 78 while shooting +7 par.
Kaytie Spangler (Jr., Ely, Minn.) shot an 80 for the Golden Bears in round 1, which landed her in a tie for 14th place. Junior Molly Noser (Rochester, Minn.) was a +12 par shooting an 80 and finds herself in a tie for 27th place heading into round 2.
The Golden Bears will resume play in round 2 of the Augustana Invitational tomorrow with a shotgun start at Bakker's Crossing Golf Course at 9 a.m. ROUND 2 PAIRINGS
