Golden Bears head west to compete in Augustana Invite

ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Concordia University Men's Golf team will hit the dusty trail and head west towards Sioux Falls, S.D. to compete in the Augustana Invite Sept. 13-14. The Golden Bears will participate in a tournament hosted by Augustana College for the 4th time since 2005. CU is last competed in a Dual vs. Macalester College on Sept. 3.

Kyle LewisLast season the Golden Bears finished in 8th place at the Augustana Fall Invite. The team ended the two-round tournament shooting a final score of 637, +61 par. Four CU golfers placed in the top-20, while two notched top-10 finishes. The Golden Bears were led by Kyle Lewis (Jr., Forest Lake, Minn.) who finished in a tie for 2nd place shooting just +2 par. The 2nd place finish marks the highest finish in his career. His score of 73 marks the lowest score by a Golden Bear at a tournament hosted by Augustana. His career-low in a round is 70. 

Alex TimmAlex Timm (Jr., Hopkins, Minn.) also had a strong showing for the Golden Bears at the fall invitational. Timm finished the tournament in a tie for 10th, shooting +6 par. He joins Lewis in shooting the lowest score in a round at an Augustana tournament as a Golden Bear (73).

The men's squad will tee-off in round 1 of 2 at the Prairie Green Golf Course in Sioux Falls, S.D. Sunday, Sept. 13. Round 2 will resume on Sunday. Stay tuned for results and a re-cap of all events from the Augustana Invitational!
