ALLENDALE, Mich. - #20 Concordia University Women's Golf team ended the Grand Valley Invitational with a 5th place finish, right where they left off after day 1. The Golden Bears finished one spot ahead of California University (Pa.) who was ranked 11th overall in the NGCA Coaches' Preseason Poll. CU also finished ahead of NSIC foe #14 Upper Iowa who finished 11th overall at the Grand Valley Invitational. Results

Senior Anne Martin (Ramsey, Minn.) finished the second round with a total score of 163, which was good enough for a tie for 21st position. Fellow Golden Bear Molly Noser (Jr., Rochester, Minn.) also tied for 21st while shooting a 163 for the day. Noser shot a 78 in the first round of play, and finished up the tournament by shooting an 85 in round 2.

Kaytie Spangler (Jr., Ely, Minn.) improved on her score from round 1 (83) by shooting an 81 in round 2, improving on her score by two strokes. Spangler finished the tournament in a tie for 24th position. In her first tournament experience as a Golden Bear freshman Laura Petterson (Lakeville, Minn.) also improved her score from day 1 (84) and shot a career-low 82.
Amanda Bearson (Sr., Lanesboro, Minn.) tied for 61st overall in the tournament. The senior shot
an 89 in round 1 while improving to shoot an 86 in round 2.
Freshman Taylor Auman (Coon Rapids, Minn.) gained her first experience at the Division II level, and her first time representing Concordia University at the Grand Valley Invitational. Auman followed the lead of her teammates by improving on her score from one round (93) to the next (90). She competed as an individual in the tournament and her score did not count towards the team total.
The Golden Bears pick up competition this weekend as they travel to Sioux Falls, S.D. to compete in the Augustana Invitational. The tournament will take place at Bakker's Crossing Golf Course.
