NEW ORLEANS, La. - The USTFCCCA released the 2009-10 Division II All-Academic honorees on the men's side, and a day after the CU women had a pair of athletes honored, the men's team also has two honorees on this year's list that includes 156 athletes at the Division II level. For the CU men, it was senior John Pimental (Ripon, Wis.) and junior Domonique Gilmer (Minneapolis, Minn.). FULL USTFCCCA MEN'S TEAM

Gilmer (left) and Pimental (right) were among the CU men's most dominant performers throughout the 2010 track seasons. Pimental was a fourt-time long jump champion in the NSIC and helped the team at the NSIC Championships by scoring 24 of the team's 68 points between his wide range of events including a runner-up finish in the Decathlon. Gilmer provided 10 points by capturing the 400m NSIC Champion title. The dominant duo helped Concordia to a sixth place finish in the Northern Sun Outdoor Championships.
The national academic award as selected by the track & field and cross country coaches is a prestigious honor for the talent student-athletes as they are now recognized for their academic success along with their athletic endeavors.
