A pair of 2009 CU baseball signees concluded their prep careers on top, as Troy DuBay and Bryan Lippincott helped Johnston High School to the Iowa State High School Class 4-A Baseball Championship on Saturday night with a 6-2 win over Marshalltown at Principal Park. DuBay and Lippincott helped the Dragons finish a perfect 40-0 in 2008, the first Class 4-A undefeated state champion since the tournament expanded to four classes in 1981.

The two Johnston players join Brenden Furrow, also a Johnston graduate, for the 2009 season. Furrow was an all-region performer as a junior for the Golden Bears in 2008.
