Hall of Fame Class of 2010 Inductees Announced

ST. PAUL, Minn. - Concordia University, St. Paul has released the 2010 inductees for the Athletics Hall of Fame. This year's inductees include athletes from the junior college era in the 1950's to those eligible for the first time. The Hall of Fame is selected by a committee consisting of CSP alumni, alumni relations and athletic administration.

The seven new Hall of Famers are: Renae (Brehmer) Fox ('92, women's basketball), Dennis Hilken ('81, football/baseball/basketball), Scott Hollingsworth ('99, baseball), John Hunter ('80, football/baseball), David Johnson ('98, baseball), Roger Lind ('81, baseball/football) and Howard Patten ('56 JC, basketball/track & field/golf).

Concordia athletic director Tom Rubbelke commented on the 2010 inductees, "I'm very excited for this group of our athletic alumni. They are very deserving of this high recognition and I look forward to a fun night of celebrating their achievements this fall."

The CSP Athletic Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place on Friday, October 1 at 7:00 p.m. at the Buenger Education Center (BEC) with a social hour beginning at 6:00 p.m. Tickets for the Hall of Fame banquet can be purchased for $25. The newest members of the CSP Hall of Fame will also be publicly honored at halftime of the homecoming football game on Saturday, October 2 against Augustana (S.D.). Kickoff for the homecoming game is at 12:00 p.m. at Sea Foam Stadium.

In addition to the CSP Athletic Hall of Fame induction, the University will honor all three volleyball teams that have claimed three consecutive NCAA Division II National Championships. Concordia's 2007, 2008 and 2009 teams are the first D-II volleyball program in NCAA history to accomplish the feat.

More information about the seven Hall of Fame members will be released this fall leading up to the induction ceremony.
