Warren Named to 2007 USTFCCCA Men's Division II All-Academic Track and Field Team

Jul. 06For the second straight year, Concordia's Kyle Warren has earned a spot on the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Men's Division II All-Academic Track and Field Team. 

106 student-athletes from 38 Division II colleges and universities comprised the 2007 USTFCCCA Division II All-Academic Track and Field Team.  The USTFCCCA honors Division II individuals for their academic and athletic achievements during the indoor and outdoor track season. 

To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, one must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.25 and obtain an NCAA automatic or provisional qualifying mark for the most recent indoor and/or outdoor championships in their respective event. 

Warren graduated from Concordia with a 4.0 GPA in biology and ran an NCAA provisionally qualifying time of 1:52.77 in the 800m run at the Howard Wood Relays earlier in the year.  Last year Warren competed in the 800m run at the NCAA outdoor national championships.

He joins Garrett Flamig and Matt Schneider of Wayne State as the only members of the NSIC to earn the honor.

Warren also earned ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America first-team and NSIC all-Academic honors this season.
