He will be joining the USA Baseball 18-U National Team for his tenth tour, recently being named the hitting coach. The National Team will participate in the IBAF World Championships in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada in July. While this will be his tenth tour with USA Baseball, it will be his third as a member of the coaching staff.

In 2008 as head coach of the Golden Bears, Lunch guided the squad to an NSIC Tournament Championship, earning the right to compete in the NCAA Central Regional Tournament. It was not only the program's first NCAA tournament appearance, but the first men's team to compete at an NCAA tournament since the athletic department has been a member of the NCAA Division II level (1999-00).
