May. 25– Concordia sophomore Kawaskii Bacon finished the Golden Bears 2007 track season with a fifth-place finish in his heat as he ran 21.70 in the 200m dash at the NCAA Outdoor Championships at the Irwin Belk Track Complex on the campus of Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, NC.
Bacon failed to qualify for the finals, but did become the first Golden Bear to compete in two events at the NCAA Championships. He finished 18th of 22 runners in the race. Marvin Bien-Aime of Abilene Christian had the fastest time of the three heats at 20.79.
