LEXINGTON, Ky. - The 2008-09 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District V teams have been released for the men's and women's at-large category with a pair of sophomore golfers, Nick Jarrett (Woodbury, Minn.) from the men's team and Molly Noser (Rochester, Minn.) from the women's team earning second team honors as voted on by the sports information directors who are members of CoSIDA District V.
Jarrett led the Golden Bears in 2008-09 with a 76.7 18-hole stroke average and earns the Academic All-District and NSIC All-Academic honors in his first year of eligibility. Jarrett is a sophomore majoring in business carrying a 3.95 cumulative grade point average. In 11 events this year, he had one top-five finish, three top-10 and seven top-20 performances. He had three par or under par rounds in 24 total rounds on the season, posting a 71 three times.
Noser continues to stockpile accolades early in her career as a student-athlete for the Golden Bears. Already a two-time All-NSIC performer and the 2008 NSIC Newcomer of the Year, Noser is now also an NSIC All-Academic and Academic All-District golfer as well. Noser was instrumental in Concordia's most successful season in program history. The Golden Bears won their first NSIC Championship with Noser placing in the top-10 to earn All-NSIC honors, then CU took second at regionals before placing ninth at the NCAA Division II Championships. Noser carried an 82.9 stroke average on the season through 27 rounds of play, nearly a two stroke improvement over her outstanding freshman year. Noser is a 4.0 student majoring in math and biology.
