Assistant AD Raitz Resigns as SWA/Compliance Coordinator

May. 12Lisa RaitzConcordia athletic director Tom Rubbelke has announced that he has accepted the resignation of assistant athletic director Lisa Raitz, effective June 27.  Raitz has been a member of the athletic staff for seven years and at Concordia for nine, starting as a student-athlete in 1999.

She and her husband John Setterlund are expecting the birth of their second child later this year.  They currently have a son Jack (2).

"Lisa will be greatly missed," says Rubbelke.  "She has been a part of the Concordia family for a long time, first as a student-athlete, then as a coach and now in her current administrative role.  We are excited that she has the opportunity to spend more time with her family.  We wish her and her family a bright and successful future."

"Lisa will always be a member of the Concordia Golden Bears family."

Raitz transferred to Concordia in 1999 and spent two seasons as a Golden Bears women's basketball player before graduating from CU in 2001 with a kinesiology degree and again in 2003 with a Master's Degree in Education.

In the fall of 2001, Raitz was named the senior woman administrator (SWA), while also serving as a graduate assistant coach for the women's basketball team. In the spring of 2005 Raitz added compliance coordinator to her resume. During the summer of 2006, Raitz gave up coaching after five seasons to focus on her administrative duties. In the summer of 2007, she was promoted to assistant director of athletics.

“I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone that I have interacted with on Concordia’s campus since I landed here as a student in the fall of 1999," says Raitz.  "It has been a great run for me beginning at a student athlete, growing into a graduate assistant and then most recently being named an assistant athletic director.  I have had the chance to work with some amazing people and I will never forget that, but sometimes you have to make the hard decisions and this one will benefit my young family.”

A search for a replacement for Lisa Raitz is currently underway.
