Men Win Six Events at NSIC Championships, Finish Fourth; Women Seventh

May. 12Kawaskii Bacon won the 100m (10.60) and 200m (21.34) dashes in NCAA provisional qualifying times and was a member of the 4 X100 winning relay team at the second day of the NSIC Championships at MSU Moorhead Saturday afternoon in leading the men to a fourth place finish with 90 points.  The women finished seventh with 16 points.

Kyle Warren won the 1500m run in a time of 3:55.95 and ran the anchor leg of the men's 4 X 400 team (Matt Eicheldinger, Adrian Perryman, Alan Stage) that took home top honors in his last race for the Golden Bears.  The win in the 400 ensured a top four finish for the men's team and broke his own school record in the event (4:00.18)

A day after graduation, Adrian Perryman joined the Concordia track team and ran the anchor leg of the 4 X 100 relay team (Bacon, Eicheldinger, Perryman, Cecil Elekwachi), taking the lead in the last 15 meters of the race.  He also was a member of the 4 X 400 relay team.

Tre Sayles also captured the triple jump on the men's side for the Golden Bears with a school-record leap of 46-10 3/4, breaking the school record held by James McNear by over a foot (45-6 3/4).

The women were highlighted by a pair of fifth-place finishes by Katie Johnson in the triple jump, breaking the school-record with a jump of 36-11 3/4.  The old mark of 35-8 1/2 was held by Sarah Deutsch.  Johnson also ran the 200m in a time of 26.87.

Shae Wallin finished third in the 5000m run in a time of 19:29.84, while Sandra James ran 12:21.12 to capture fourth in the 3000 steeplechase.

The all-NSIC performers shall consist of the top two place winners in each event and the members of the top relay team from the conference meet. Honorable mention awards shall be provided to the third-place performers and the second-place relay teams.
