May. 04– The NSIC has announced the pairings for the first round of the NSIC baseball tournament set for Thursday-Sunday, May 8-11, 2008 in Wayne, Neb.  This year the top six teams in the conference, based on win percentage, are paired in a double elimination tournament, mirroring the NCAA Regional format. Concordia (16-10) will battle Southwest Minnesota State (14-12) in the opening round at 4 p.m.

Wayne State finished the NSIC on top with a 24-6 record; they will take on Winona State (15-15) who was seeded sixth. Bemidji State (13-13) was seeded fifth after winning the tiebreaker with Winona State.  The two teams split during the regular season, both were swept by Wayne State, but the Beavers went 1-3 against the second seed from Upper Iowa while Winona State went 0-4.
