May. 02– Concordia freshman Kelly Godwin shot a third-round 78 (80-78-78=236) to move from eighth to third in the final day of the NCAA North Central Region Championships at the par 72, 5946 yard Sunnyside Country Club in Waterloo, Iowa.  She would have to wait for a Truman State to defeat Neb. Omaha 21-20 in a sudden death playoff hole to earn a trip to the NCAA Women's Golf Championships at Stonebrook Golf Club in Pensacola, Florida on May 9-12.  She becomes the first Concordia golfer to qualify for the National Tournament.

The top two teams from the regional qualify for the NCAA Championships, with the top two individuals who are not members of the top two teams qualifying for the championships. 

Upper Iowa's Rachel Schmidt took medalist honors with a 73-75-78=226 to earn the first individual spot.  North Dakota took the team title, forcing Godwin to watch the Neb. Omaha/Truman State shootout, because Truman State's Julie Williams shot a 77-74-80=231 to finish second, five strokes ahead of Godwin.  If Truman State had lost the team shootout, Godwin would have been left out.
