Godwin, Hauser Named All-NSIC

May. 01– The 2006-07 NSIC Women's Golf All-Conference team has been announced as voted on by the NSIC Women’s Golf Coaches. This marks the first year that the women's golf coaches have voted for an all-conference team. In prior years it was the top ten finishers at the conference championship, but the voting allowed for all events from fall and spring to be taken into account. Two Golden Bears were honored by league coaches as Kelly Godwin was named to the first team and Jacquelyn Hauser was a second team selection.

Godwin, a freshman from Centerville, Minn., led the Golden Bears in the fall and the spring seasons with an 80.5 average in the fall and an 82.1 average during the spring. Her strong performance earned her an invitation to the NCAA Regionals hosted by Upper Iowa, where she is currently competing. She is the second golfer in program history to qualify for regionals as an individual.

Hauser, a sophomore from Caledonia, Minn., finished second on the team during both the fall and spring seasons, shooting an 84.4 in the fall and an 84.9 in the spring. Her personal best in the fall was a 161 at the Drury Invite while firing a 162 this spring at the NSIC Spring Championships.

The duo anchored a Golden Bear squad that finished third at the NSIC Championships in 2006-07, just missing the cut for a team invitation to the NCAA Regionals as the two teams that finished ahead of them in the NSIC, Upper Iowa and Winona State, each qualified for the regional.
