ST. PAUL, Minn. - It was a long-awaited day for the Concordia University track & field team who competed in a home meet for the first time in history. At the Holst Invite on Wednesday, the Golden Bears hosted a successful meet at SeaFoam Stadium, welcoming student-athletes from more than a dozen programs. Concordia athletes won seven events to become recordholders at the facility. COMPLETE RESULTS
Nate Thienes was the top finisher in the first event to go final at Concordia's inaugural meet. Throwing the javelin, Thienes marked a career high throw of 162 feet, four inches to take the prize. Jake Womeldorf was the first Golden Bear to run an event on the new track surface, competing in the 3,000m steeplechase (pictured). Womeldorf took fourth place in the event.
