BROOKINGS, S.D. - Concordia University's 19 stroke lead at the midway point of the NSIC Women's Golf Championships was more than cut in half today, as Upper Iowa gained 10 strokes on the NSIC leading Golden Bears in the third of the four round NSIC Championship Tournament. Concordia shot nine strokes better in the third round than either of the first two rounds, firing a 313 today. But UIU was even better with a 303 and the two teams are now separated by nine strokes with 18 holes to play. UPDATED RESULTS
Concordia currently has four of the top 10 golfers in the individual leaderboards led by senior Carley Paulseth, who is in second with a 237 (+21), five strokes behind Upper Iowa's Rochelle Schmidt. Sophomore Molly Noser is tied for third, just one stroke behind Paulseth with a 238 (+22). Noser fired a 73 today which was one stroke off the low score for the third round.
Senior Jacquelyn Hauser is tied for eighth with a 246 (+30) and sophomore Kaytie Spangler is tied for 10th (247, +31).
Junior Anne Martin contributed to the team score today by firing a 78, second best score on the CU team total.
The NSIC Championships conclude tomorrow with the Golden Bears looking to wrap up their first league championship.
