DES MOINES, Iowa - Concordia's track & field teams sent a number of relay teams to one of the nation's most prestigious and anticipated meets of the season, the Drake Relays.  The Golden Bears enjoyed their experience racing against the talented competition.  The team also had student-athletes compete at the Macalester Invite on Saturday.  Kaysee Nesmoe continues to put her name in the CU recordbook, setting a new program record in the hammer throw with a mark of 133 feet, 5 inches, good for sixth place.  Nesmoe has set three new school records this outdoor season. 

Nesmoe was a top-ten placewinner in four different events at the Macalester Invite.  Her highest finish came in the shot put, taking second place with a 39-10.75 launch, about eight inches off of her school record mark.  She placed seventh in the discus (116-9) and eighth in the javelin (82-3), showing her range of strengths as a field athlete.

Miriam deVille was Concordia's other placewinner this week, taking sixth place in the high jump at the Macalester Invite.  She cleared 5 feet and a quarter inch for the position.

Although the relay teams at the Drake relays did not place in any event or set any new school record times, they all came up within an arm's length of some of the top times seen by Concordia relay teams.
