Palkert finished her career as the school's all time leader in kills and points in a single career. She was named the NCAA's National Freshman of the Year by the AVCA in 2007 as her immediate impact was felt including a match against rival Minnesota Duluth where she had 34 kills, a school record. She was an All-American her next three years as well as she continued to dominate the nation winning conference and national player of the week awards along the way. Not only was Palkert a dominate force racking up kills upon kills every match but she was accurate as well finishing her career hitting .327, third best in school history. She was also a monster on the defensive side of the ball finishing her career third in school history in total blocks (482) and second in school history in solo blocks (94).
