Relay Team Hits Provisional Time

Apr. 11

ST. PETER, Minn. - Concordia men's 4x100 meter relay team had a record-breaking performance at the Lee Krough Invite on the campus of Gustavus Adolphus College yesterday, surpassing the CU school record time in the event and hitting an NCAA Division II provisional mark.  The Golden Bears had several other strong performances on the day, as well.

The men's relay team, kicked off by John Pimental, followed by Diahn Zeon and Kawaskii Bacon with Robert Spence pulling up the anchor leg, leaped far past the former school record of 41.64 seconds with their race of 41.04 on Friday afternoon.

Bacon also took first place in the 200 meter dash with a time of 21.76s.  Tre Sayles had a good day as well, finishing in second place in both the high jump (6ft, 7.5in) and the triple jump (44ft, 7.5in).  Katie Johnson leaped to a third place finish in the women's long jump, marking a high of 17 feet, 4 inches on the day.  She was the top-placing women's athlete for the Golden Bears.
