Golden Bears Tie for Fifth at NSIC Championships

LAKE CITY, Minn. - The young Golden Bears, led by three sophomores, continued to show their improvement has paid off throughout the season as they tied for second in the third of the NSIC Championships and finished overall tied for fifth in the league championship finals, moving up three spots after the final round of play. CU produced 19 team points this weekend for a three round total of 39. Minnesota State and Bemidji State tied for the most points at 58 with MSU taking the title with the tie-breaker. The Golden Bears had two top-20 golfers in the overall individual championship point race with sophomore Kyle Lewis (Forest Lake, Minn.) taking 14th with 215 points (99-68-48) and sophomore Nick Jarrett (Woodbury, Minn.) taking 18th with 205 points (37-74-94).

Senior Nick Gallaway (White Bear Lake, Minn.) finished 31st with 149 points (29-63-57).

There were 67 individual men's golfers competing at the NSIC Championships and 11 total teams.

Third round stroke totals have not yet been released and will be posted when available.
