Jake Schmidt continues to be unhittable well into the season, as he once again posted a career-high with 13 strikeouts in a complete game, three-hit effort at the University of Mary in a 4-1 game one victory. The junior right hander allowed three hits and only walked one in the outing and is now 5-0 on the season in as many starts.

In 35 innings, Schmidt has a 2.83 ERA and has 52 strikeouts while holding opponents to a .183 avg. He strikes out 7.4 batters for every walk he issues. Of his five starts, his last four have been complete games during which he has struck out 48 batters in 28 innings while allowing only 17 hits and seven earned runs. His 52 strikeouts on the year give him 122 for his career with the Golden Bears. This marks the third time this season Schmidt has been named pitcher of the week.
