LaViolette, Behnke Tabbed WBCA Honorable Mention All Americans

Mar. 26– Seniors Amanda Behnke and Katie LaViolette have added another honor their senior season full of accolades, as they were named to the 2008 NCAA Division II State Farm Coaches’ All-America Honorable Mention Basketball Team as voted on by coaches who are members of the WBCA (Women's Basektball Coaches Association).

Behnke and LaViolette have already been named the 2008 NSIC Co-Players of the Year and Daktronics First Team all-Region.  This is the second straight season Behnke earned WBCA honorable mention honors, while it is the first time LaViolette has earned the honor.

Behnke finished her career with 1,423 points, which is seventh best in school history (all-time).  She also had 726 career rebounds, good for second most in school history (Division II-era).

LaViolette finished her career with a school-record 775 assists, which is tied for ninth-best in NCAA DII history.  She also scored 1,082 points, which is 17th most in school history. She is the 7th-known player with at least 1,000 points, 700 assists and 400 rebounds (453 rebounds).

The dou led Concordia to a school-record 28 wins (3 losses) and a second straight NSIC regular-season and NSIC tournament title in 2007-08.  The Golden Bears made in their sixth straight NCAA tournament, where they were defeated 73-70 by Minnesota State in the first round of the tournament on Mar. 14.
