ST. PAUL, Minn. - This week's CU Athletes of the Week both hail from the diamond, where spring baseball and softball has been played outdoors for the second week. Pitcher Aaron Pfalzgraff and second baseman Anna Bjorlin have been honored as Athletes of the Week, the first honor of the season for both athletes.

Senior right hander Aaron Pfalzgraff (Garland, Texas) went the distance in an extra inning loss on Sunday afternoon to Augustana, using great command to strikeout six Vikings without a walk while scattering six hits. He only allowed two runs but was hit with his first loss of the season. Pfalzgraff only needed 91 pitches while throwing 66 strikes and retired nine consecutive batters between the two runs that he allowed in the fifth and eighth innings. On the season, he is 2-1 in five starts with a 3.77 ERA striking out 29 batters in 28.2 innings while holding opponents to a .241 average. He is also posting a near 10-1 strikeout-walk ratio on the season with 29 K’s and just three free passes.
Anna Bjorlin (Hermantown, Minn.) batted .533 through Concordia’s four games played last weekend at the Missouri Western Classic. The junior second baseman went 8-for-15 at the plate with a team high seven RBI and two runs scored. She went 4-for-4 with three singles and a double against Truman State, driving in five runs. Bjorlin also did her part to give the Golden Bears scoring opportunities against a very strong Missouri Western squad, batting 3-for-4 with a double to notch an RBI and also score a run in the 2-4 loss. With her errorless weekend of play in the field, Bjorlin helped the team bring home a 3-1 finish as they prepare to open the NSIC schedule.
